Since early 2021, it has been hard to plan holidays with travel restrictions, self-isolation and revolving lockdowns. But as travel destinations start to safely reopen, there are dozens of luxurious trip possibilities and awe-inspiring destinations waiting to be explored.
Despite this, planning a trip post-COVID19 might feel downright daunting for many people. So, it’s completely understandable to be nervous and hesitant about booking anything.
As a personal travel advisor, I’m here to provide some much-needed reassurance and to help you plan an incredible adventure safely.

Maybe you’d prefer to sip on a rum-filled coconut in the Caribbean or go hiking in Hawaii? Whichever vacation you choose, there are plenty of incredible adventures to be had while you comfortably dip your toe back into the travel world.
As a fellow travel enthusiast, you’ll want to check out my favorite travel-friendly destinations below..
Canada
There’s a wide variety of destinations to explore in Canada during both winter and summer months.
Located at the base of the Blackcomb Mountain in British Columbia, the legendary Four Seasons Resort Whistler is Canada’s most frequented ski destination. Whether enjoying the breathtaking landscape views from your cozy balcony or lazing in front of the fireplace, this ski resort will feel like home.
There are some other fantastic winter wonderlands to discover away from the crowds.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is the perfect mountain getaway. Located in the heart of Banff National Park in Alberta, this iconic hotel sits on the shores of the stunning Lake Louise. You’ll practically have unforgettable views of snow-capped towering peaks of the Alberta’s Rockies and the turquoise lake waters all to yourself!
With VIP benefits courtesy of your personal travel agent, you can enjoy perks like early check-in and late check-out, along with room upgrades!
Get in touch with Canada’s untamed wilderness with a stay at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. This 700-acres mountain resort is situated in Alberta’s magnificent Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy daily full breakfast for two guests along with home-comfort amenities and “rustic luxury” accommodations, all while surrounded by incredible views of soaring jagged peaks of the Rocky Mountains and the clear green Lac Beauvert.
When planning your trip, allow for a short detour to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, one of the most magical seaside towns in all of Canada. Here you can photograph the pastel-colored historic homes. A walk to the downtown area, you’ll find yourself in the midst of art galleries, artisan shops, and quaint boutiques.
Is Canada open to travel?
Canada reopened for Americans traveling for leisure on August 21, 2021. Also, the U.S. reopened the US-Canada land border for all nonessential travel on November 8, 2021.
Families and friends across the border can finally reunite for the first time since the pandemic began. As we head into the holiday season, this is a good time to rekindle family connections and friendships that had been affected by the cross-border travel restrictions.
The Caribbean
When you think of the Caribbeans, it’s often a case of so many islands, so too little time.
With destinations like Antigua, Jamaica, Aruba, St. Lucia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, and Turks & Caicos, you are simply spoiled for choice.
Yet, planning the perfect getaway largely depends on which island you choose. So you have to pick carefully.
But not to worry, personal travel advisors can help you narrow it down.
Go chasing waterfalls in Jamaica’s tropical forests or snorkeling in and around St. Lucia’s Anse Chastanet reef. Beachgoers will love the dry climate and white sands of Aruba, while architecture lovers will delight in the bright pastels and white roofs of Bermudian homes.
While exploring everything Jamaica has to offer, be sure to book a stay at the Jamaica Inn, a popular family-run luxury resort with impeccable ocean views and state-of-the-art customer service.
You’ll probably never want to leave your suite at the newest resort in the Bahamas, the Rosewood Baha Mar. Complimentary amenities like room upgrades and $100 USD resort credits ensure that you’re treated like a rockstar. There’s an incredible tropical paradise for every type of traveler to explore.
Are Caribbean Islands open to travel?
Beach lovers rejoice as many of the Caribbean Islands have already opened their borders to visitors from the United States. It’s now easier than at any time since the pandemic began to get away to the Caribbean and its beautiful beaches.
I’m excited to help you find your personal favorite.
Hawaii
The gorgeous waterfalls, aloha spirit, stunning beaches, and an endless list of exciting activities are just a few of the reasons Hawaii is continually rated as a top vacation destination.
Every one of Hawaii’s islands, from The Big Island to Lana’i, has something special, but Maui and Kaua’i may be its crown jewels.
Nature and adventure travelers will be awe-struck by the lush tropical jungles of Kaua’i while traversing its dozens of hiking trails. Be sure to hike the one that leads to the must-visit Secret Beach.
No trip to Kaua’i is complete without a helicopter ride over its iconic rainforest landscape situated along the Nā Pali Coast. Golfing, ATVing, parasailing, kayaking, scuba diving and more await along the shores of this unforgettable island.
While on the haven of Maui, indulge in a stay at the magnificent Four Seasons Maui at Wailea or the Ritz -Carlton Kapalua. VIP benefits include a complimentary breakfast for two and an early check-in or a late check-out.
Here you can paddle board, snorkel, jet ski or simply lounge on the soft white sand. A day trip along the winding Road to Hana to visit the famed rainbow trees and black sand beaches is ideal for seeing more of the island’s diverse scenery. Whatever you do, don’t leave Maui without sampling the fish tacos at Paia Fish Market!

SAFE, HEALTHY INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
The pandemic completely altered the international travel landscape and most destinations were closed for months on end. But that’s all changing as most are finally reopening.
That said, with so many constantly-changing safety protocols now in place for the foreseeable future, traveling is no longer the same. For example, before departing anywhere, you now have to:
- Understand the entry requirements for each destination. Some require COVID-19 vaccination or a 14-day quarantine, and some don’t.
- Source and take COVID-19 antigen or PCR tests, and know the difference between the two.
- Evaluate the best travel insurance that meets the destination requirements.
- Understand the local public health & safety protocols before you go—for example, mask-wearing in public places, hand sanitizing at every location, and social distancing.
- Keep a close eye on the CDC travel guidelines as they’re updated regularly.
Trying to keep up with the drastically changing health protocols, filter through all the misinformation on COVID-19 and plan the perfect trip can quickly feel overwhelming.
Sadly, many people miss or overlook one aspect or another and end up being denied boarding because they don’t have all their ducks in a row. This results in a 100% loss of your travel investment!
But this doesn’t have to be the case for you. Check out my COVID-19 Consultation and Assistance service and learn how I can help simplify the travel process for you in this new travel reality.
